Automatic Authorised Towing Recognition
The Meta Trak S7 Caravan system is equipped with an ID tag for automatic authorised towing recognition. The ID tag can be attached to the tow vehicle's keys or carried on your person. When the tracking system detects motion, such as when the caravan is being towed, it will scan to find the ID tag. If the ID tag is found, the system recognises that an authorised person is towing the caravan. If the ID tag is not found after the system detects motion (indicating unauthorised towing or potential theft), it will send an alert to Meta Trak’s secure operating centre within seconds. A member of the monitoring team will then contact you via phone to confirm whether or not a theft has taken place.
Unlike other caravan tracking systems on the market that use a rocker switch or a turn-key switch for similar functionality, Meta Trak’s use of ID tags creates an automatic towing recognition system, making it unique in the industry. Fitting a rocker switch or turn-key style switch requires drilling of either the internal cabinetry or bodywork of the caravan, which is inconvenient for the installer and the customer. Additionally, the customer would need to manually operate it every time the caravan is to be towed and then remember to switch it off again when the caravan is parked to avoid excessive battery drain/current draw.
This process is cumbersome for installers, customers, and monitoring centres, often leading to false alerts due to customers forgetting to operate the rocker switch to enable manual towing recognition. With Meta Trak's caravan system and the use of their ID tag for automatic towing recognition, all these inconveniences are eliminated, providing a passive and simple solution for everyone involved.

General Features
Secure Control Room Monitoring
The Meta Trak S7 Caravan system is connected to Meta Trak’s manned 24/7/365 Secure Operating Centre. If the system generates any alerts, a member of staff will call the number associated with your account to ascertain whether or not a theft has taken place. If you confirm that the caravan has been stolen, the monitoring team will liaise with local police forces and direct them to the caravan using positioning data from the system. This service is available throughout the UK and Europe.
Live Tracking
The Meta Trak S7 Caravan and Meta Trak’s customer app allow you to track your caravan’s location in real-time. The system can also log your journeys for up to one year.
Multiple Positioning Technologies
The Meta Trak S7 Caravan uses the latest GNSS receiver technology and multiple tracking technologies, including data from the GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS satellite constellations as well as GSM cell-based positioning. This provides greater resistance to jamming attempts.
Multi Network-Roaming Connectivity
The Meta Trak S7 Caravan uses the latest quad band modem and globally roaming SIM to ensure optimal network connection for communications. Multi-network-roaming connectivity ensures the device isn’t fixed to a signal mobile network provider; it can instead connect to more than one mobile network at any one time, seamlessly switching between the strongest signal being presented in the device location. Automatic switching from network to network enables reliable data transmission and receival even if you live or travel through an area with poor signal from a particular mobile network provider.
Battery Disconnection Alerts
If your caravan battery is disconnected or power is lost to the tracking unit, the Meta Trak S7 Caravan system will send an alert to Meta Trak’s secure operating centre. If power is lost to the tracking unit, it will switch to its internal battery backup to ensure continued operation. A push notification alert of the event will also be sent to the Meta Trak app.
Low Vehicle Battery Alerts
If your caravan’s battery falls below a pre-set threshold, the Meta Trak S7 Caravan system will send a push notification through to your Meta Trak app. You can also view and monitor your caravans current battery voltage in the Meta Trak app.
